Find out what yoga REALLY is and learn some basic drills you can do at your console.

Week Two - Your Breath Is The Key

Did you know that tactical breathwork exercises give you access to your nervous system, stress response, and brain? It’s true! But most of us have never learned techniques to use this training tool effectively. This six minute video will give you simple but powerful breath training that will change your day.

Week 3 - Meditation Explained

In 5 minutes you change your brain waves, blood pressure, and hormone balance. That is what meditation is all about, not “clearing your mind” or “being at peace”. The world is a tough place and your job is hard. Meditation doesn’t take that away, but it does give you the tools to make it through.

Week 4 - Ten Minutes of Mobility

Are you worried you aren’t flexible enough for yoga? You can ease your mind knowing that yoga is not about flexibility or stretching at all! Yoga processes stress hormones that sit in your body’s tissues and joints creating stiff muscles and brittle bones. Combining breath with specific body movement will probably increase your mobility, but it’s really meant to make you feel good.

Week Four Challenge: Share our video post and use the hashtags #EmpowerYoga, #911derWomen and #YFFR to be entered for a chance to win our prize this week! Winners are announced on Monday! Bonus entry if you include something you learned about mobility!

Your Daily Dose of Yoga

You now have practiced each element of yoga individually, so let’s put it together. Intention, breath, movement, and meditation together create “yoga.” This is a video you can save and visit daily or more than once a day. We recommend at the beginning and end of your shift as a way to designate work time from “you time”.
